Risk assessment is an integral part of Bushcraft Bears as learners develop their self-esteem and learn to manage risk for themselves with the guidance of our trained team of instructors.
At Bushcraft Bears we continuously engage in ongoing risk assessment in our program.
Our instructors perform site risk assessment before each site is used and recommend any changes to be made to the site before commencement of a workshop or school activity.
Risk assessments have been carried out for all our activities during the planning stage of the program. We have taken into account the potential benefits of taking part in an activity, and weighed against the potential risks the activity could hold.
The level of risk will naturally change over time as our individuals become more familiar with our Bushcraft Bears program and with managing their own behaviour and risk.

WEATHER POLICY
Our workshops will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; storm, high temperatures and strong wind.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of a cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, classes will be cancelled and makeups will be scheduled where and when possible.
Where there are changes to our schedule, we will notify the parent/guardian by email or by telephone.
CLASS POLICY
All fees are nonrefundable once the course has commenced.
Refund can only be made if requested at list one week prior to the commencement of the course. The request for cancellation must be made in writing.
No refund will be made for students missing a lesson for any reason except for an extended period of sickness. To receive credit for such an absence, parents/guardians must submit a written request supported by a medical certificate showing a minimum sick period of FIVE days. Requests and documentation must be submitted within seven days of the absence.
PARENTS AND GUARDIANS RESPONSIBILITIES
All students must be under adult supervision while waiting for classes to commence. We require parents or guardians of children in our accompanied classes under to remain on site for the entire duration of the class.
Classes will finish on time. Please ensure you pick up your child promptly at the end of class.
